McCain may be hoping to inherit the GOP leadership after this year. The neocons may be finished if they lose convincingly. You may also see such spectacles as Rush Limbaugh joining Martha Stewart. Hannity and Drudge are already proven liars. Coulter is pretty much exiled. Once Bush-Cheney go the GOP will have to completely regroup. The real "evil" in the GOP is the nasty alliance between extreme right wing moralists and the pollution-energy-weapons lobby. It's a marriage of convenience Bushies has taken to the max.
