Sorry to hear that Altie...it's 60 degrees at 7am in Seattle, beautiful sunrise. Starting a nice new project today, for one of the Mariners. Business is just ripping.

Last night I had dinner with my friend that was a long time EMC'er. Have you heard of a storage company called Isilon? They are rippin' also, she said they have several leading edge products coming out...my friend just sold Ofoto on them, they are handling all of Ofoto memory storage now..

Gotta go...birds are a chirpin' and everything is all abloom...

little tease of nice pre-Spring weather

Today was the second day in the upper eighties - absolutely glorious. Unfortunately ephemeral, it's eighteen to twenty degrees above "normal". Been hard to find any time to post. Even garden weeding is a joy. I'm on my second try with peas, and enjoying watching blackberry sprouts shooting up. I'm posting this to "whet your appetite". Expect you don't require much "whetting".

Patience. Soon, very soon.

GuitarInstructor19,

My Strat arrived Thursday and the amp came on Saturday.
I've been playing with it ever since.

My finger tips are thoroughly tenderized. <g>
Sort of numb and raw but still playable.

I've memorized the major chords A-G and have been
practicing the Blues scale (pentasomething) for the key of
A.

I want to try to memorize that scale before moving on to
the others.

I'm rather clumsy in my chord changes and have a heck of
time forming that confounded "B". "F" was giving me some
trouble but I'm getting a little bit more consistant with
it.

Anyhow, I was wondering if I could pick your brain a little.
Sort of like a long distance guitar lesson...

What do you think might be the next blues scale I should
practice? D? E?

In otherwords, are there some scales that I'll be using
much more than the others?

And should I be memorizing them or just memorizing their
basic rules as far as steps and half-steps?

Any exercises you might suggest?

I learned a very basic 12 bar blues riff and have been
having fun with it adding my own little bits to it.

Thanks for any help. Gotta run.

Any basic music theory you might be able to think of to help me
understand would be appreciated...
