It all has to do with the breakdown in morals across all levels, all regions, all sections of society. The increase in government spending towards welfare reflects not a growing morality in this nation, but a shrinking one. Worse yet, that increase is also exacerbating the moral depravity, for it hamstrings the truly charitable, and the bitterness among the selfish will only deepen.

I am struggling to connect the dots...how do you manage to relate social security, a program for seniors, to depravity or moral decline. I even struggle to make that connection with minimum wage legislation. Welfare? Well, I guess you could make a case that it operates in dysfunctional segments of society...but that discounts the fact that folks run into hard times now and then...is there abuse? no question...but what do you do? Ignore the real needs cause you it's hard to deal with abuse? Help me out here...I am not sure I am where you are.
