Michel de Montaigne (1533 - 1592) Montaigne entered my thoughts because we're going to a colloquy on Montaigne later this week, having been invited by an acquaintance who's one of the participants, and I was googling this morning to kind of brush up, not having read a word of Montaigne since college. Montaigne was one smart man.
