On the plus side good outlooks after the close from both TXN and CYMI.

On the technical front; The SOX/SMH both closed at lower RSI's than we have seen in quite some time. On a contrarian basis we are at such an oversold level that we should indeed see a rally start soon. Always has happened at these levels in the past year!

On sentiment:

The VIX rose smartly today. We would benefit from even more selling in the market overall to put in a strong bottom. If we could get enough measurable fear that would be beneficial in the long run. Higher VIX/VXO/VXN numbers now would be good because the SOX/SMH will rise as these fear gauges fall.

I am still waiting for the total put to call ratio to close just once above 1.0 this year.

It simply has not happened but I can put up with a little more pain if we can at least have one more good rally after that happens for our beloved sector.
