construction economics From the March 8, 2004 issue of ENR Pipe Prices Have Active First Quarter Most pipe products posted large price increases during the first quarter, ranging from an average price hike of 1.4% for PVC water pipe to 8.3% for copper water tubing. The PVC water pipe price increase fell short of that recorded in the same quarter of 2003, leaving current prices about 3% below a year ago. However, the copper pipe increase left prices 15% higher than March 2003’s level. Prices for ductile iron pipe increased 3.7% this quarter while prices rose 2.4% for steel pipe and 2.2% for concrete pipe. enr.construction.com
