Well you for one. You are "the sum of all fears" with your bigoted anti-God attitudes. Because you think people of faith are a threat to you, you will line up when the day comes to approve of their persecution. You will not be quoting the Bill of Rights for us and opposing the fascist state on our behalf!! You think faith in God should be stamped out for a better world. You should be watched closely!!

And the Inquisitions were all about the persecution of anyone who opposed the Catholic doctrine. Everyone had faith in God back then. It was not about forcing people to believe in God when they didn't. It was about Catholic power over other interpretations of the Bible that were springing up. Even the Russian Orthodox Church (the eastern equivalent of the western Catholic Church) joined with the Czar to persecute different sects for things as trivial as how they made the sign of the cross when crossing themselves. Czar Ivan was probably the worst for that. Among other tortures he would have people fried in a giant frying pan. The unlucky soul would jump from the pan into the fire because they would die more quickly. "Out of the frying pan, into the fire".
