I don't think the social adjustment is as hard as we might think. They got a lot of socializing in the Churches and summer camps. Most of the parents make a big point of making sure they participate in sport leagues. The best thing they could do for these kids, and for all kids, for socializing, is force them to go to a weekly social dance class for about a year when they are 12. It will stick with them all their lives. I have watched for the last ten years as crowds of people watch us dance, and are afraid to get on the floor. We had a very plain, morbidly obese 40 year old guy show up at Willies this last week. No women would normally give this guy a second glance. But he is much sought after. Why? He's a good social dancer.
