It is, however, perfectly legitimate, and in line with a LONG tradition of respectable political practice, to continue to criticize cheap-shot politicians like Kerry who try to cash their service in for political gain.

Especially when they have such a sorry record of national service SINCE then...

Maybe, but why is it out of bounds...does it not speak to the character of the man that everything he did was just a precurser for his political career?

I think it is a mistake to attack Kerry's war record as it is to attack Bush's service in the TANG.

The fact is, as you know, Kerry has already attacked Bush's ANG record, along with all others in the Guard or Reserves, equating them with Clinton the Coward's draft evasion after Clinton was notified to report for induction. Kerry's actions, as far as I am concerned, open his career to the same scrutiny, with no hold barred. His villification of all Vietnam Vets in the 70's as murderers and rapists was the most scurillous attack for political gain I have seen in my long life watching politics. How many out there remember the returning vets, alighting in an airport of train station, and being doused with psuedo blood and urine by the followers of John Kerry and Jane Fonda???? Or those returning from years in the Hanoi Hilton which Kerry's friend Jane insisted did not exist? The scenes I remember were the most disgusting treatments of returning serviceman I had ever seen, and I go back to WW2. He is a man without shame. The really sad part of this is Kerry is the best the Democrats have to offer the American people. Sad.
