That Was Someone Else.<<< I assume you mean that you are not drawing parallels with current day Israel. No, I mean IT WAS NOT ME WHO WAS DRAWING THE PARALLELS. It was ANOTHER POSTER. Did the capital letters help or can you really not understand what I read? I believe you have commented negatively on Israeli (and US) tactics and further commented that innocents are killed. My problem with that is that it does not recognize the environment of daily terror under which Israelis live. I understand it pretty well, as someone who has grown up in an environment of daily terror in the Middle East herself, with the sound of bombs going off a constant background melody to her life in those days. You are confusing cause and effect. Israel is not occupying Palestinian land and making their lives hell because of terrorism. Terrorism is happening because Israel is occupying these people's land, building an ever increasing number of settlements into their land, and in myriad ways destroying their hopes to build a future. In any case, "situation" is no excuse for crime. The Hiroshima bombing is not acceptable given our knowledge of the world today. Yet that does not mean that Truman was evil and did not honestly believe he was doing the right thing. His killing of 100,000++ Japanese does not make him a mass murderer All of that is, of course, your opinion. Some of the Japanese I have met over the years had very different views on the subject. That is, suicide bombers have no chance of surviving. Historically, they are brainwashed and troubled Japanese had fighter pilots who suicided by throwing their planes on Allied ships. Does that mean they were brainwashed and troubled? And which "historical" study is this that has found them to be "brainwashed"? A post-mortem study, I imagine? Interesting. Can you post a link, or do we have to take your word for it? There are some real studies out there that show how these suicide bombers, far from being brainwashed for years, suddenly decide to do this horrible act as a result of a loved one being killed by the Israeli military in the occupied territories. Example: Hanadi Tayssir Jaradat, 29, who worked as a lawyer in Jenin saw the killing of her brother and cousin. Three months later, she became a suicide bomber. Example: Iyad al-Masri, 17, died when his bomb belt exploded prematurely – a week after his 15-year-old brother, Amjad, and a cousin were killed in clashes with Israeli forces in the West Bank city of Nablus. Look around and you will find more examples. It is a vicious circle. Israeli military kills Palestinians. Palestinians kill Israelis. Who in turn kill more Palestinians. Wake up and smell the blood. This is not me being anti-Israeli or something. This is your precious Israel brutally occupying Palestinian territories and them fighting back in the only way they can - terrorism.
