USX China Index Up 9% in February 2004

DALLAS, March 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- For the month of February, the USX China Index ("^USXC") increased 8.96% to close the month at 3092.93. During the same period, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.91%, Nasdaq was down 1.76% and the Shanghai index was up 5.30%.
The biggest gainer within the USX China Index during February was Yanzhou Coal Mining Company Ltd. (NYSE: YZC - News), which increased 29.99% while the biggest decline was 25.87% for Chindex International Inc (NASD: CHDX - News). ^USXC can be quoted on Reuters and Bloomberg as well as secondary information providers such as Yahoo Finance.

To be included in the USX China Index, companies must meet the following criteria:

* The majority of their business is conducted in China
* Their common stock is traded on a major U.S. exchange
* Each company's market capitalization is more than $50 million
* The company is approved by the USX China Index Selection Committee,
which considers additional factors such as float, liquidity and
business fundamentals of all existing and potential constituents
