India and China aren't taking jobs from the US because they are smarter, they are taking them because they are able and willing to work harder for less

in a world of overcapacity, you could argue then that working harder for less makes them smarter...<g>

somehow the old saying "half a loaf is better than none comes to mind"

(auto workers and grocery store workers are finally figuring this out)

Problem here is.. not that jobs are going to India and China. It is lack of quid pro quo. I think the solution lies in fair trade policies (by India and China), lifting of trade barriers and creation of legitimate level field where an American worker can compete with his/her counterpart in India/China.
