It's harder to recruit teachers for high-living-cost areas like Wash DC, because the job often doesn't pay enough to pay the rent.

It's pathetic to read every now and then how hard some of the private and public schools have to work to fill certain positions.

When did you last hear a kid say he/she wants to grow up to be a teacher? (I don't know why they would, because dealing with the disrespectful behavior of many pupils these days and the nasty attitude of many of their parents has driven some teachers into early retirement!)
