The majority of the Palestinians have said they would accept compensation. You don't want to address that fact because it keeps the status quo going It doesn't matter what the "majority" of Palestinians have said, if they have said it, and they haven't in this case. Compensation has long been offered, and the Palestinian have refused it for political reasons. Is 'Palestine' a democracy? No. Does it have rule of law? No. Did Arafat accept compensation? No. Did Hamas? No. They are the ones with the guns, they ones who get to say. Citing what most Palestinians are supposed to want is like citing what you think most Iraqis wanted under Saddam Hussein. Wait until they have a democracy and can answer the question without fear. I'm not under impression that terror began in 67. Irgud, Stern gang, biographies of early Israeli leaders admit to many acts of terrorism to drive out the Palestians so that a jewish state could exist. Now pay the reparations You must get your entire history from Palestinian propaganda. The Stern gang, which was a splinter group, arose in response to massive Arab terror. The Haganah did not engage in terror, disapproved of the Stern/Irgun, and brought them to heel in 1948. A thing which the Pals have never done because they LOVE terrorism, it's always been their first choice of weapon. If the Jewish terrorists aimed to remove all Arabs from Israel, how come there are a million Arabs in Israel but no Jews left in the Arab lands? You must think Jews are pretty incompetent. The deal [Taba] was 3 pieces of non contiguous land, continued settlements and the highways and troops. Israeli checkpoints to go from one piece of country to the other. Israel keeps the aquifers. No passport authority. That's a Palestinian lie. Dennis Ross says it was 97% of the territories. So do Ehud Barak, Shlomo ben Ami, and Bill Clinton. Even the Malley and Agha, who generally side with the Palestinians in the argument, don't deny it. You can't have 97% non-contiguous. What's more, I can DATE this lie. After Taba, the Palestinians said nothing about 'cantons' or 'non-contiguous' for months - until they realized what a PR disaster they had created for themselves. So about nine months after Taba, about the time Arafat started the intifada, they whipped out an Israeli map from much earlier in the negotiations that had cantons on it, and began claiming it was the final offer. Memri.org has the documents on the changing Palestinian position if you're interested. Nadine, the Palestinians were not the ones who were fighting in 47, 48 and all the other wars. You even talked about Jordan sending fedayeen to blow up civilians. Note, not Palestinians. Sure they were. Have you ever heard of Abdul Khader Husseini and his fedayeen, the Mufti's fighters? They were the chief Palestinian Arab fighters in 1948. And just who do you think the Jordanians ARE, that you make this ridiculous distinction between Jordanians and Palestinans? Jordan is 80% Palestinian even today, more when it still held the West Bank. Where do you think it recruited the fedayeen from? Jordan was created in 1922 out of the eastern 3/4 of the Mandate of Palestine. There was no national difference between the Arabs of Jordan, Palestine and Syria - and indeed, the Mufti's demand in 1948 was that Palestine be reattached to Syria. That was one reason for refusing the creation of an Arab Palestine. A Palestinian identity is a brand new invention, less than 30 years old. Every word you say bespeaks near total ignorance of Mideast history.
