I don't care if politicians are immoral- as long as they look forward, and do things that makes sense for the future. If they want to do that because they want to make a crapload of money in the future, that's fine with me- as long as they aren't selling the future to make money now. "Morality" is highly overrated- since those who consider themselves "moral" frequently do things that screw the planet, and the future generations, and people right here right now.

I don't care about my presidents pecker (or vagina), or his or her stock transactions, or even what he did in the war- what I do care about is 1. Is he or she careful with our natural and human resources? 2. Is s/he cognizant that the nations of the world are now inextricably linked economically, and is s/he prepared to deal with complex international problems while bearing that in mind? 3. Is s/he prepared to inform the country about the long term problems we face and DEAL with them, even if that causes short term pain, rather than putting bandaids on gangrenous wounds and allowing them to fester? Morality is a poor word, since it is rolled up in a lot of garbage.
