Dave, No, I wasn't a Leather Neck, but during WW2, they were my idols. I was just a plain old ground pounder in the Infantry, but never saw any action. When I was in Texas A&M, I wanted to go airborne, but at that time, they wouldn't take guys that wore glasses, and that made be so mad I quit the Corps of Cadets after my sophomore year. That contract would have landed me in the military as a Shavetail. I've kicked my own butt many times over the years for doing that. That what happens when a hard head tries to think too deeply. I remember you were planning the move to the NW area of the lower 48, and glad you made it OK. As yet, I have not made my cruise to Alaska, but I ain't dead yet neither.
