It's great you had a couple of dry days so you could get your roof fixed. It's a pain when they do the tear off abd it starts raining. Nothing but blue tarps protecting the wood.

Here's one that will boggle your mind.

I had coffee with a guy who retired from the gas company, gets a pension, SS, and has 20 acres that he truck farms, sells his produce at the farmer's market and sells ear corn to people who feed the squirrels. Paid his house off 25 years ago and paid cash 10 years ago for the truck he's still driving.

He got an application for a credit card from a financial services company. A company that started out as an insurance company and is now also into stocks and real estate. He's had insurance through this company for 50 years.

Before he sent the application in he got a call from the company and spent 10 minutes answering questions about house payments, car loans ...

4 days later he gets a rejection letter from the company for the credit card. Not enough credit history. Now the kicker. He has a retirement investment account with that company that is over $200k and they won't issue him a credit card with a $2k limit!!!
