In 1980, the average price for a gallon of gas (regular unleaded) in the U.S. was $1.25, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration

Today, what is it....1.59, 1.69 avg.?

24 years.

can you imagine ANYTHING else being such a bargain is gasoline? And remember, Clinton increased TAXES on gas a LOT so, that makes the actual price of gas even cheaper.

The price of crude continues to rise. It doesn't matter if we get it from California, Louisiana, or Kuwait.

The price of gas goes down when the price of crude goes down. As when OPEC gets mad at each other and floods the market at any price.

I'm baffled why Kuwait or Saudi Arabia didn't give us a discount! We better get a discount from Iraq or we may nuke the next place and ask "who else wants to piss us off?"

Know what I mean Vern?

This is a really interesting web site. If you look around you can find reasons why gasoline is so high. You can also find historical information about the cost, supply and uses of oil.

GWB is increasing strategic oil reserves because Bubba sold a bunch in 1996 to reduce the deficit.

This could account for some of the increases in the price of oil.
