I must say I am pretty impressed by your familiarity with every corner of the F1 circuit in the Monte-Carlo circuit! I mean, I know where St Devote is because there is a Church of St Devote there, and St Devote is also the name of a bus stop. But you knowing such details is pretty impressive :-) I hear that David has "engaged" his Brazilian girlfriend... although both deny it... oh well.... that's gossip stuff and I am no god at that at all... Love is in the air, LOL. Jensen Button also got engaged to his girlfriend about six months ago in the London club "No 5". We spent New Year's Eve there. Mostly middle aged people, women in red Valentino dresses, and music from the '80s. Can't imagine why he would want his engagement party there... [How's THAT for F1 gossip? -g- ] Oh and how about Schumacher getting another racer's wife and making her his own wife? That's a good story, too :-) If you were to try to introduce a "street circuit” these days, with all the safety regulations that dictate the introduction of a new circuit to the F-1 calendar, it would simply not qualify... Well, there are not that many regulations here. One of the joys of living in a principality - whatever the prince wants to do goes :-) no 'over-slides' at the exit of corners... you do ONE and touch the ARMCO rail and you are done And so are the cars behind you. That is why there are these huge cantilever thingies at major corners (like the one next to the casino last year) that, in case of accident, whisk the car(s) out of the road in a second. It is like the percussion section coming on in Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture -ggg Last year we watched the race from a balcony over St Devote, looking towards the finish line. At one point, among the din of the cars, my boyfriend turns to me and asks "What is that music?". He was serious. And there was no music aside from the noise of the cars. Even if there were music, we couldn't possibly have heard it. I swear I thought for a while that he lost it :-) Then again, we had not slept all night and were walking around like drunk zombies, so... -g-
