I wouldn't pretend to know much about Kerry, certainly not in any level that could compete with yourself. I did however see this: recherche.tf1.fr (click on the bit that says "John Kerry est le cousin de Brice Lalonde" to see the relevant part of the TF1 news program) TF1 is considered a pretty serious channel in France (i.e. it wouln't be caught dead manufacturing a story like this) and the guy they are interviewing as Kerry's cousin is the mayor of the town you see the streets of (i.e. not a tramp the channel has picked from the streets and paid to say he's Kerry's cousin.) I would be inclined to believe the story is true. And why not? It's not a crime to have a couple of French people in the family....
