Brazil case may break stalemate on trade

American subsidies may be part of the problem but Brazil has a much bigger overall problem.....inefficient farming. Have you heard of the slash and burn method of farming? That is the method popular in Brazil. Look it up.....you will see why Brazil's farming industry is in the dumper.

Most third world nations practice subsistance farming and barely have enough food to feed their own populace. That'w why they end up importing from us. Many wait until they become self sufficient in essential foodstuffs before planting cash crops.

And let me assure you there are enough cash crops that can't grow in our climate or soil conditions to keep third world farmers in the green stuff for years to come. Some examples are coffee, rubber trees, exotic hardwoods, papaya etc.
