"'Israel showed good faith in 2000, did the PA?'
We talked about this before. The proposal in 2000 did not talk about a viable state. ... it looked like there were reasons why that proposal was not acceptable."

I know you don't want to go over this anymore, but one last time...

First off, the 2000 deal met 98% of the PAs land demands. Even if there were reasons that the proposal was not acceptable, the PA had promised to forego violence with Oslo. Nothing can, imo, justify the PAs vigorous use of suicide bombers, There was no impasse in the 2000 negotiations that justifies the use of terrorism. What is it achieving, but more oppression. Arafat and his cronies knows this. You're smart enough, you think Arafat doesn't realize if he sends off hundreds of suicide bombers into Israel there will be no consequences for the people he is supposed to represent. That somehow 100s of suicide bombers will lead to a happy palestinian people. Come on, who are you trying to kid. Peace can only happen through dialogue, the PA doesn't like dialogue.

My understanding of why the 2000 proposal was not acceptable was because Israel would not agree to a palestinian right of return. Arafat knows full well that Israel would never agree to that and so does the rest of the world, so whose kidding who?
