how much does it cost to plow under a pool would you say? We have the same problem around here, too many pools.

I still have plenty of room left for whatever with 4.5 acres.

Actually it lowered my property insurance because I'm rural (no fire hydrants) and I have two wood stoves. It gives the fire fighters a built in fire pond with which to fight a fire.

I figure the pool adds about $1200/year in costs, added utilities, chemicals and the charges for getting the pool guys to open and close the pool. It takes us about 20 minutes a week in the summer to take care of it, far less time then in the bad old days of pool vacuums. The skimmers, filters and automatic bottom cleaners are incredibly efficient so there is little left for you to do except save the occasional frog. Much cheaper than a summer vacation. I don't want to leave here in the summer. Pools are lost on some people but it turned my place into paradise.
