<according to the Constitution, the laws of the United States supercede all treaty commitments.>

Here's what the Constitution really says (Article 6):

"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land;" archives.gov

Now, go ahead and try to finesse that. Start by creatively re-defining "supreme law". Then find some modern think-tankers, to explain in great detail, why the Constitution doesn't really mean what it says. And I will bury you, again, in quotes by Jefferson and Adams and even Hamilton.
