i think it has to do with traffic to their particular site....

sort of makes you wonder how bad things are out there for media...

if you post the article in it's entirety (with attrib link) on an alternative site, there is no reason to click on the SF chron web site...

seems like they are scraping the bottom of the revenue barrel here

like i said.... whole lot of media sources out there.

am, perhaps, more sensitive to this issue as a writer who sells (or tries to!) her work, and as the wife of a former copyright attorney

in the long run, isn't it better for a writer to get exposure across many venues? free advertising, no?
