Fascinating post for lots of reasons. Being a single parent to a teen, this issue comes up on a regular basis. I wonder if Clinton's legacy will be closer to Howard Stern's. I also wonder if our European friends can comment on whether similar high percentages of teenagers consider oral sex as not really having sex.

This may be inappropriate on this thread and I don't want to offend my friends any more than I usually do <ggg>. What we need is a porn, sex and unbridled raw matchmaking thread on SI <gggg>. Maybe those frustrated US haters could find some peace, errr piece, there.

Clearly we need to talk more honestly and openly about sex- throw out the coyness, and just lay the cards on the table. Duh- I would have thought that was obvious long ago, but obviously not. "Having sex" is so unspecific I can't imagine why people would use it in sex education programs.

This was interesting "It's possible that we've given them the impression that sex is whatever you use a condom for," she said. "

Nice to know the younger generation is so jealous, though:

"The study also found that when it came to sexual jealousy, the students were prepared to say that almost any activity - including deep kissing and on-line sex - amounted to being unfaithful. "
