Stand by to pay higher US$ interest rates everyone and, if you are not paying interest rates, be caught up in the maw anyway as the impact will be like a bolide splashing down in the Pacific Ocean. The tsunami will reverberate around the world, destroying low-lying communities and therefore having a big impact on those well above sea-level, who will afterwards be able to buy, or simply take over, the vacant land nearer sea level. Look at those Aztecs running for the hills. As your friend said, the US$ is where it's at. For now anyway, but even the mighty US$ will be shown to be nothing but hot air when the Q ascends the throne. Mqurice
