On a related matter, you should know that over on the "Politics For Pros" thread they are searching for the liberal that turned them into the SF chronicle. Message 19902107

Re: SI can do what it likes, and be as capricious as it wants to be, and the more restrictive it is, the faster it will die....

Well, it's more cynical than that I'm afraid.... See, SI owners want to cater to mainstream America, that is, that quarter of the US middle-class that wasn't completely wiped out back in 2001, and made up, for the most part, of liberal New Yorkers and wealthy retirees from Florida, Boston era, etc... Those folks keep watching mainstream newscasts and reading PC newspapers. To put it bluntly, they're a bunch of thickos who swallowed the official 911 hogwash hook, line and sinker!! So, just imagine what happens to these idle yokels when they log on SI --and switch from their usual MSFT thread to the... "World Affairs Discussion" thread!! Worse still: they tumble upon a post by GUSTAVE JAEGER who lashes out at Judeofascists, Ariel Sharon and their beloved Jerry Falwell!!?!! They suddenly think to themselves, "Aaargh... SI's a neonazi weblog!!" And that's bad business, from the point of view of SI managers. That is, uncensored political threads hurt their business plan, so to speak... Not that they are Arab-haters themselves --they just don't give a hoot about a minority that's just 2% of the total US constituency... and too strapped to ever trade stocks over the internet.

I guess that's the main reason why they allow rrunttt and other bullies to push around posters like me --I spoil their business plan.

Gus

I enjoy seeing all of the various source material posted here. I would think that the newspapers would like it also - as it then drives new readers to their sites, and their content.
