I don't know the details of the cost sharing. I suspect you may find it on one of the many press releases issued by SNG in the past if the ratio was in their favor.

Anyway you look at it, EP is already at the max ceiling test using $6.00 NG on their full cost pool and the last thing they needed was another world class dry hole.

Cost Sharing: I believe EP agreed to pay 2/3rds of the costs in return for 1/2 of the gas.

Western Energy Settlement: EP funded the settlement with stock, not cash.

Interest Expense: Based on EP's planned debt reduction to $15 B at year end (and they are already almost there) EP's interest expense should be reduced by $500Million+.
