I don't think it had anything to do with EP's cash position. No one in their right mind would walk away from this well after all the money they have already spent if there was a reasonable chance the well would have been commercial, or at least commercial enough to pay for the additional costs of completion and hook up.

I think after some very long and painful discussions EP concluded it was a dry hole. There were gas shows, but based on all the evidence it was determined that there was not enough gas to ever pay back the cost of completion and getting the gas to market plain and simple.

Any other explanation out there is simply a SNG shareholder looking for some "hope" that doesn't exist.
