Looking at SNG as well, This is a strange story. I can understand the need to delay however, Abandoning a well can mean two things..

1. There is nothing there and they don't want to say that..
2. They have all the information they need and it is a viable producing field..

I would lean torwards the first though. I worked in well logging for the north slope of alaska for 3 years and a drilling outfit never leaves a well without logging it. If for no other purpose than to identify where and how deep the wellbore is for future drilling. That way they can plan around it. Otherwise they cemented it in and abandoned it which means, not a viable formation.

Anyway, thats my two cents..
