this google issue always stumps the free traders. We all have used google, its a brand new industry and anyone can see that having an offshore R&D for "the next microsoft" is a TERRIBLE idea for the long term economic health of the USA. You usually get the same responses, "I am unaware" etc. from free trade advocates. I had somebody tell me that internet software (web services) was a mature industry a few weeks ago, and therefore it should be offshored (Amazon rolled out their web services in 2001). These executives have been talking among themselves for so long they are immune to their own extremism. The public knows it and when Greenspan shouts that training is an issue wrt jobs, while seattle and silicon valley have the highest job loss in the nation, even greenie is looking like an idiot.
