I am wondering if we all aren't getting way ahead of ourselves. After all, it is just March and not October. Kerry has learned from the last few elections. And he realizes that he has to come off the ropes in the early rounds. But who knows yet what are the best tactics when there are really 75 rounds instead of the traditional 15? So I wonder if Kerry campaigning every day this early isn't also good for neocon target practice...The press tends to get bored in slow times and will feed on what ever stupid nuggets the RWEs throw out. And nothing gets the media's juices flowing than the perception that the front-runner is suddenly losing ground...Dean was a great example of that.

Do the American people have either the appetite or even the attention span for eight more months of this? Who does a drawn-out slugfest favor?

What I fear is that Republicans are the long time masters of campaigning in the mud...The television attack ad was perfected by Bush pere in the famous, bigot- endorsed "Willie" Horton ads. The RWE strategists love the filthy muck because they live there (ever since the CREEP days). I know we all are congratulating ourselves because we finally discovered the ability to throw the crap back in their direction. Will it work? What are the best tactics for keeping Kerry in the lead for next 240 days?
