I prefer the actively managed approach of BEARX as I don't want to have to make calls on market turns, if I did I could do better trading futures. It seems that even a simple moving average crossover would've caught this 5% market drop in the last few days. But when the markets drop 1.5% and BEARX only gains 0.5% something's amiss. I was impressed last year with BEARX during the bear market correction but will wait patiently while Tice gets shifted into the correct gear.
