Thanks for sharing your spike work.
Have you thought about plotting your spikes vs interst rates? Major bottoms have occured with massive panic moves from equities to bonds and I find on my long term graphs that we see big spikes down in rates.

What is odd is most everyone "says" they think rates will be higher in the future... Often the market moves towards reflecting what "everyone knows." There is a huge divergence in what "everyone is saying" and bonds, equities, put/call ratio, etc.

Perhaps nobody has a clue and money is sloshing all around? -snort
