Patterns don't equal proof. Presumptions are just that---guesses as to what you think might have happened.

If you think that what may or may not have happened in the past inescapably establishes what has happened now, then I suggest a refresher course in basic logic.

By this logic and mode of "thinking" the following are always true:

1.- I've had great luck fishing in the first five fishing trips of my life. I will therefore be a great fisherman. All of my fishing trips will be successful.

2.- I've tremendous luck at Vegas. I will therefore clean up next time I go.

3.- My first five children were boys, therefore my next child will be a boy.

4.- I flip a coin seven times. All heads. Therefore, I will always flip heads.

5.- All my investments are good so far, therefore I'm a great investor who will inevitably get rich.

I could naturally go on and on. But it's a waste of time and bandwidth because I unfortunately see the signs of a closed mind that sees only what it wants to see.

Unlike you, I entertain the possibility that a crime was committed, though I can also see the value in keeping Abbas alive for intelligence reasons, the information he could provide, and a host of other good reasons that militate against killing him.

You, on the other hand, have made up your mind.

Fine.

Good luck to you.
