Ah...Greenspan has joined the dark side however. He points out that SS should make outlay concessions but fails to make an equally emphatic point for non SS deficits. He did of course for a number of years during the Clinton administration and during the early days of the bush kingdom. Do you suppose bush sees him as a "flip/flopper" too ?

Really. I assume you think businesses shouldn't borrow, to build those nice, highly productive factories either, because they eventually would have gotten the factory built, without going into debt. Carter should have cared more for ending the recession, than the deficits.
