Well, why didn't you just come right out and say that you you are a socialist? That would have saved us a lot of time.

I'm a capitalist BTW.

Over the years the US govt. has committed to certain social programs and finding a balance between socialism and capitalism has become a fine balancing act for it's people.

President Bush's desire to see partial privatization of SS could be a compromise that millions of working Americans and future ss recipients can live with. I think it's a great solution to the impending ss under funding problem.

Cuts in the tax on dividends is an excellent way to stimulate economies by encouraging investment which in turn promotes growth. Millions of working and retired Americans rely on the dividends from securities investments for supplementing their retirement, to buy a home or send a child to college. The potential for more Americans joining those ranks as our economy grows is enormous.

I've NEVER believed in punishing corporations or individuals by taxing their successes.

Health care is difficult. I cannot support a universal health care system like the one Hillary Clinton proposed in the early 90s.....no one else could either and that is why it totally flopped. LOL I don't think it will work for America right now. Health care is available to many of the millions that don't take advantage of the many programs that have been set up over the years and that is due to personal choice or ignorance. Health care is also available in most hospitals to those not able to afford it through funds and grants. But like I said.....health care is difficult and solutions are elusive. I wish I had some valuable and useful ideas but I don't, so I just keep paying for it out of my own pocket. Course I've always taken responsibility for myself.

So......lets get back to our earlier discussion about the war on terror. I don't know why you would have a problem answering these relevant questions?

Are you a citizen of the USA?

Who do you support for President?

Would you rather that we set up diplomatic relations with terrorists?

Do you think that the Interim Iraqi Congress should be run by the UN?

Do you think the UN should be running things in Afghanistan and Iraq?

Do you support the International organization called A.N.S.W.E.R?

Should the people of the world give in to terrorists and all become Muslims?

Should the government of Spain give in to all ETA demands?

Should United States sovereignty be handed over to the UN?

Should United States military personnel be subject to the laws of the World Court?

If you would like me to answer these or other questions, by all means, go ahead and ask.

M

"As for tax-cuts, they should have been cuts in SS taxes"

This system is going broke big time. We are going to need to RAISE these taxes and CUT the benefits for it to even work at all. Your position just outlines with an exclamation about how clueless you are. If we cut the taxes in SS, we will have to ELIMINATE the program.
