Why can't Israel give up all of its nukes in exchange for a non-aggression pact from the Arab nations? And how about if the United Nations sets up a permanent base for peacekeepers, peacekeeping training, educational (translational) forums, etc. as a buffer between Israelis and Palestinians. This base would help to serve as an intermediary between the two conflicting groups and also help to improve UN ability to perform peacekeeping functions in other hotspots in the world.

I think this would have about as much chance of success as the current peace efforts or the round of treaty signings which forecast WWI and WWII. In the end it is likely to simply increase the size and scope of the 5% Solution which is to come.

Sooner or later you will have to listen to what your enemy is saying. OBL and the terrorist bombs of the PLO could care less what the Arab "nations" agree to do.

I believe they mean what they say. People expecting to die soon usually do. As Carl says there are comparatively few of them, but it doesn't take many angry hornets to stop the party.

...Unless Carl can give me a new and improved Hi-Tech monster/hornet killer that spares the party goers, I'm going to have to go with the 5% solution as the probable outcome... treaties or no treaties.
