I agree, the Senate is old-fashioned. Absentee voting should be allowed.

Or the candidate can schedule his time to fit in doing his job, speak on the floor about the budget and his position, vote and return to the campaign.

Kerry promised he would represent the people of his home state when he ran for re-election. He never said that if elected I will show up some of the time, because I may want another job that will keep me away from representing you.

Candidates should be more honest with the voters.
I appreciate their wanting to run for another job, but their first job comes first. If they are not going to do their job, then they at least should not be paid. This is about them personally, not the job they were elected for...
