Bush on the budget:

"Paying off debt is a priority. In the budget I submitted to the United States Congress, we pay down $2 trillion worth of our debt. In a 10-year period, we pay down $2 trillion. ... It's a significant payment down of our nation's debt. We set priorities and we pay down debt."
George W. Bush March 26, 2001

The neocon plan is to bankrupt Social Security and Medicare so we will have no choice but to privatize. Privatization is basically a huge giveaway of public wealth to the private sector, in this case huge contributors to Bush-cheney. They in turn will make a nice profuit off all the services thereby adding 15% to the cost of everything. bush's Medicare drug plan is a perfect example. 12 billion bash to the HMO's and a LAW which says we cannot negotiate with the big drug companies for lower prices and cannot import can Canada. Crookery.
