I just received my first email from a friend in Barcelona...first she wants to thank all the American people who have called, sent donations, and offered their condolences.

They are quite saddened coupled with the confusion of who really did it...her suspicion is that ETA teamed up with A-Q...she expressed the peoples' hunger for the truth since elections are on Sunday which in her opinion will impact who they vote for...if ETA...Aznar's Conservative party will get it...if A-Q the people want Zapatero the socialist candidate...she was in too much grief to offer my opinion...no to the socialists!...

Other news, seems that 3 of the undetonated bombs have been analysed...they conained a different explosive that ETA does not normally use...yet the dynamite and equipment were made in Spain...leaving more quetions, time...I wish they'd postpone the elections....

Take care all,
Zeta

So ETA might have changed with the times, or this might have been some splinter group of ETA joining up with Al Qaeda.

Possibly. I think it's more likely this was done by some of AQ's "subcontractors" taking the initiative.
