I think it very likely high achievers' brains are different. And I think it very likely that to some degree these traits are inherited.

I have no doubt that Intelligence is Nature. Nurture can help, but it can't replace a slow CPU. Not yet, anyway. We have so much storage capacity that the increase in brain cell activity that Derek posted about is nice, but not a factor. Not unless it is speeding up the access to memory.

The brain may or may not work like a computer, but it's functions can certainly be described in those terms. Will we come up with a chemical that we can take to speed up our "CPU?" Probably. And most likely as a result of our Alzheimer research.
