In fact, there has been little increase in offshore drilling inspite of the huge spike in oil prices this past year. That kind of common sense logic is lost on these guys. Its very disconcerting. A certain element of the right wing press has its own view on things and often runs counter to that of the mainstream press; to common sense logic as you put it; to past experiences; even to what is being taught in our schools. They manage to find a way to twist the truth by sometimes just a notch and then fabricate a whole new take on a particular situation. I assume they do it to sell publications but their followers eat it up like its candy and it becomes gospel for them. Why its disturbing is that you have a whole segment of the population believing that the sky is red when the rest believe its blue. How can you have an easing of tensions when the views are so divergent? ted
