Of course not, because it would require paying $$$ for gasoline, and you can't get elected on that.

Americans like the idea of getting free of sand land, but not if they have to make sacrifices for it, like driving that Toyota hybrid vehicle.

Yes, Kerry has often spoke about getting off Arab oil. The way he puts it is that "no American soldier should have to die because we are hostage to Arab oil". What that really means is that he's going to take on the Texan cabal. About time. Those guys have proven to be major crooks and sneaks.
