That it generally isn't economical now. But will be someday. It's probably a good idea to invest in R&D and do some subsidization.

But it is stupid to hobble our oil and gas industry. It's bad for the country.

One more thing re. alterative energy. They aren't always as alternative as one thinks. Hydrogen as an example, what do you think the cheapest source of hydrogen is? It happens to be natural gas.
