I agree Kerry was indiscreet, but that's a different ground of attack than that such sentiments weren't expressed to him.

Indiscreet? That's like calling 9/11 an unfortunate little incident. Assuming the statements were in fact made, which is a pretty large assumption, anybody who can't keep his mouth shut about what foreign leaders discuss with him in confidence isn't fit to be President.

And of course we have no way of knowing whether such sentiments were expressed or not. Except that he said he "met" with foreign "leaders," which is a clear statement of a multiplicity of meetings. And there is no evidence that any such meetings took place, Kerry hasn't gone on any foreign trips since he started running for the Presidency, and at most he was ina position to meet with one leader. So it looks very much like a false statement.

But if the standard you are judging Presidential candidates by is that they are free to make such statements and refuse to provide any evidence of them, fine. You can, of course, adopt that principle. And I will expect you to apply the same standard to all the other candidates. Verification of statements is optional.
