Could be just a corrupted shortcut, could be a macro virus. Do you have MS Office installed? Do you have an anti-virus program running up to date reference files? If you have ME or XP try turning off system restore before deleting it. You might need to boot to Safe Mode to delete it. It could be in use by an application and you can't delete it when it is being used.
