I have to agree that Sharon's acts were foolish and imprudent. However, most impartial commentators have suggested that the Intifadah was planned and that only a triggering event awaited. I.e., if Sharon had not visited, some other event would have been used as an "excuse" for those like you that condone terrorist actions.

Even assuming you are correct, does Sharon's act of visiting a holy site, justify years of cowardly terrorist actions, intentional targeting of civilians to bring terror rather than targeting military operations? Does it justify the further suffering it has brought upon those you seem to care for, the Palestinian people? Have these terror tactics brought them one inch closer to peace?

No - all they have done is to insure that the billions pilferred by Arafat and company will continue to grow safely in Swiss bank accounts.

If anyone needs an argument that violence does not stop violence............look to Israel. No one retaliates faster and harder then Israel yet they continue to be plagued with frequent terrorist attacks.

"I disagree ... This was an attempt to sabotage the peace talks."

More of an election ploy than anything else and the PA leadership were happy to assist Sharon to that end.

I'm not going to list hear all the many acts of good faith Israel showed in pursuing the goals of Oslo, suffice it to say, however, the PA promised to forego violence.
