Unclewest,

I hope you are right about Spain not electing a weak government that favors disengagement...but the media machine against Aznar's party went into full throttle after midnight(this early am). Notably, and not surprisingly by La Vanguardia, a known leftist and anti-Aznar publication with much influence in Catalonia which has it's own axe to grind with the Madrid politickos...their editorial this A.M. was quite disappointing....telling the Spanish people that they were being lied to by Aznar and that Aznar's party is "very nervous" supporting the editorial's claim that they are nervous for the obvious reasons that Aznar concealed info. Proof of this they said was in a NYT publication yesterday("the most influential and regarded world publication"(La Vanguardia quote)...I read the NYT article and there is nothing in there to directly support their claims or so I think...of course, there is nothing in the NYT article that is at all sympathetic to Aznar...surprise, surprise

Any thoughts by other who read the NYT take yesterday?
